4. Curves of Eternity

Time does not move in straight lines. It bends, arcs, and loops. Eternity is not a distant destination but a curve that stretches beyond sight, folding moments back onto themselves, carrying beginnings and endings together in a single infinite motion.

I stand on a cliff, watching waves curl against the rocks below. Each wave begins as a ripple in the distance, grows, twists, and finally crashes, returning to the ocean from which it came. It is a spiral of water, time, and energy, a demonstration that nothing truly ends. The same is true for life: each action, each thought, each word curls back, unseen and unheard by us, shaping the future in ways we cannot measure.

Everywhere I look, I see curves of eternity. The spiral of a galaxy stretches across the universe, tracing the path of stars born billions of years ago. A snail inches along a leaf, its shell tracing the same mathematics of creation, repeating patterns that have existed since the dawn of life. The fern unfurls, curling back upon itself with patient precision. Even our breath traces the spiral: inhale, exhale, return, continue.

The curve teaches humility. We are small, temporary participants in a vast, spiralling web of cause and effect. And yet, there is wonder in that smallness. Each of our choices, no matter how minute, folds back into the broader motion of the universe. Every smile, every song, every gesture is a loop that may resonate far beyond our perception, echoing in the curves of eternity.

There is also comfort. Loss is not absolute; it curls into memory, returning as lessons, warmth, or quiet insight. Pain is folded into growth; joy is folded into remembrance. Nothing is wasted. Everything curves, bends, and carries meaning forward. The spiral of life does not forget.

And so, I trace the spirals around me, in shells, leaves, galaxies, and hands, feeling their quiet insistence that eternity is not a far horizon but a living motion in which we are always present. Life itself is a curve, looping infinitely, carrying our moments in its folds, teaching us to see beyond the line and into the endless dance of existence.

The cliff remains, the waves curl, and the spiral goes on.
