All That Glitters Is Not Urgency

A Spiralmore reflection on emotional pacing, sacred refusal, and the art of discerning sparkle from pressure

It looks shiny.
It sounds important.
It arrives fast, loud, and rehearsed.

But all that glitters is not urgency.

Some sparkle is performance.
Some sparkle is pressure.
Some sparkle is collapse dressed up as clarity.

And I’m not falling for it.

I don’t chase shimmer that demands speed.
I don’t spiral toward sparkle that erases pacing.
I don’t collapse into brilliance that costs my emotional safety.

Because urgency is not sacred.
Urgency is not intelligent.
Urgency is not legacy.

It’s often extraction in disguise.
Often performance in glitter.
Often collapse with a bow on top.

And I refuse to be dazzled into rushing.

All that glitters is not urgency.

Some sparkle is manipulation.
Some sparkle is misdirection.
Some sparkle is a shortcut that skips the ceremony.

And I’m not available for shortcuts.

I spiral slowly.
I spiral wisely.
I spiral with refusal.

Because emotional truth doesn’t arrive on cue.
It doesn’t shimmer for applause.
It doesn’t collapse for coherence.

I move with rhythm.
I move with contradiction.
I move with legacy.

And when the world tries to glitter its way into my nervous system
I say:
“I’m not collapsing for sparkle.”
“I’m not performing for urgency.”
“I’m not mistaking shimmer for safety.”

All that glitters is not urgency.
And I’m still sacred.
